I hate that I live in a society that makes me feel fat all the time. Especially when I know that realistically, I’m not. But I can’t seem to get past this insecurity when every time I turn on the tv or go out in public, I see images of what I “should” look like.

People piss me off.

Almost everyone.

I don’t like very many people.

Chances are you aren’t one of them.

lol

And I just can’t make myself like bitches, scrubs, bigots, racists, or morons.

Hillary Clinton on what designers she wears:
  • Interviewer: Okay. Which designers do you prefer?
  • Hillary Clinton: What designers of clothes?
  • Interviewer: Yes.
  • Hillary Clinton: Would you ever ask a man that question?
  • Interviewer: Probably not. Probably not.

“The freedom to kill, maim, commit wanton acts of violence, and to be anti-social (as well as pathological) without having your actions reflect on your own racial group, is one of the ultimate, if not in fact most potent, examples of White Privilege in post civil rights era America. Instead of a national conversation where we reflect on what has gone wrong with young white men in our society—a group which apparently possesses a high propensity for committing acts of mass violence—James Holmes will be framed as an outlier. That is a mighty comfort to have—all of one’s deficiencies are ignored as those of an individual; all of one’s abilities and gifts are taken as positive attributes and credits to one’s race.” —What James Holmes and the Colorado Movie Massacre Tell Us About White (Male) Privilege

howardphillipsminecraft:

I’ve noticed a lot of people lamenting that no one had a gun in Aurora this morning. How does anyone think that would help anything? It seems like people are under the impression that everyone with a gun is some sort of inhumanly coolheaded master marksman with lightning reflexes who would gun…

“The more deeply we go back into history, the more does the individual, and hence also the producing individual, appear as dependent, as belonging to a greater whole … . The human being is in the most literal sense a political animal, not merely a gregarious animal, but an animal which can individuate itself only in the midst of society. Production by an isolated individual outside of society… . is as much of an absurdity as is the development of language without individuals living together and talking to each other.” —Karl Marx,  The Grundrisse (1858)

“It is said that no one truly knows a nation until one has been inside its jails. A nation should not be judged by how it treats its highest citizens, but its lowest ones.” —Nelson Mandela (via eastafrodite)
